175th Infantry (5th Maryland) Commemorative Plaque

ccbc92f1dc39cf0c3a4f5de6b5d27d23.jpgThe 175th Infantry Battalion has a well decorated history and has played an important part in American History.  This is a fundraiser for a commemorative plaque to be placed at the new Army Museum.

A magnificent state-of-the-art facility that has opened as a national landmark to honor America’s Soldiers, preserve the history of America’s oldest military branch, and educate all Americans about the Army’s role in our nation’s development.

The National Museum of the U.S. Army will serve as the capstone of the Army Museum System and provide the only comprehensive portrayal of Army history and traditions. The Museum will celebrate the selfless service and sacrifice of over 30 million men and women who have worn the Army uniform since 1775.

“From Long Island in 1776 to the Elbe River in 1945, the 5th Regiment has participated, with distinction, in all of the nation’s major wars.  Today, the unit stands as the 7th oldest regiment in the United States.” - Excerpt taken from: Fitzgerald Brewer, J. H. (1955). History of 175th Infantry (Fifth Maryland).

We need everyone's help to do it. Including you.

Your contribution will take us one step closer to making the 175th Infantry recognition plaque a reality. (Attached is the plaque for the 29th Infantry Division.)
